Rower Spotlight: Kathryn

Meet Kathryn Mosher-Boule' a.k.a “KMB” who has been rowing at ORC for 2 years.

Q: What got you interested in rowing?

KMB: Barb Sills made me row!! Haha!! She literally nudged me for a couple years until I finally signed up for a Learn to Row class. Although I can’t say that I loved it right away, I now love it and am very passionate about the sport. And it’s more than a sport, it’s like a calling. OK I’m getting spiritual, but you can’t help but be hooked.

Q: What do you love most about ORC?

KMB: The PEOPLE!! My teammates and coaches, the friends I have met and bonded with on the water and off, as well as new people I meet at the boathouse.

Q: Your favorite Orlando area spot?

KMB: For a drink: Moderne! For food: Little Saigon. For adventure: Wallaby Ranch – a hang gliding destination, where you get towed up by an ultralight airplane and glide on the updrafts. It changes your perspective in more ways than one, and after your amazing flight you eat breakfast with the crew. I love introducing new people to this sport.

Q: What encouragement would you give to someone who’s interested in learning to row?

KMB: Challenging yourself is how you grow and learning to row is challenging and rewarding. Give rowing a try and you’re sure to love it!
