Sweep Rowing Programs

The Novice/Locally Competitive Sweep Program provides athletes from the Learn to Sweep program with the opportunity to continue to develop their rowing skills before joining the Competitive Rowing programs.  Crews may row in any combination of eights and fours.  The program’s primary focus is on technique development and having fun out on the water.  This program rows Tuesday and Thursday from 6:30 a.m. to 8 a.m. or 6:30 p.m. to 8 p.m. and on Saturday from 7 to 9 a.m.

The Regionally Competitive Sweep Program desires a higher level of fitness and works toward being able to medal at focus regattas, including the Head of the Hooch and USRowing Southeast Regionals.  Acceptance into this program is possible for first-year rowers, depending on rower skill level.  This program rows on Tuesday and Thursday from 4:45 am to 6:30 am and on Saturday from 6:45 am to 8:30 am.

The Nationally Competitive Sweep Program is able to commit to four days a week of training, with the expectation of medaling or meeting specified times in national-level regattas such as the Head of the Charles and Masters Nationals.  This group rows Tuesday and Thursday 5 am to 6:30 am and Sunday 6:30 am to 8:30 am.  (Coaching Fees subject to change during peak practice months.)
