Learn to Row

Learn to Row

Great Workouts, Beautiful Views, Amazing Friendships

Class Overview:

No experienced required! Whether the beginning of your new fitness routine or just a 4-day adventure, we’d love to share our sport with you. Founded in 1868, we have over 50 years of experience teaching adult recreational and competitive rowers.

This immersive, 4-day class held over two back-to back weekends will teach you the fundamentals of rowing. Time permitting, we will also cover the basics of sculling.

Out next learn to row session is September 16th & 17th and September 23rd & 24th from 8am to 11am and includes:

  • Fun and fitness on the water
  • Indoor training instruction on the ergometer (indoor rowing machine)
  • Boat handling, adjusting, launching and maneuvering
  • Breakdown of the rowing stroke and expert tips on improving your technique
  • Experienced coaches and volunteers to help guide your rowing experience
  • Readiness to enter one of our year-around programs

Class Outcomes:

At the conclusion of the Learn to Row program, you’ll be fully prepared to enter into one of our year-around programs to continue your training. You’ll be able to mix and match your sessions to suit your schedule and get on the water as much as you want!

Further, you’ll have learned everything you need to know to get a full body workout each and every time you set foot in the boat. And best of all, because you are on the water and surrounded by a team of new, interesting people, you’ll be excited to attend as much you can, helping you achieve your fitness goals.

Whatever your reason for wanting to row, Orlando Rowing Club offers a positive and unique experience that you are not likely to forget.

What to Expect:

  1. Register and pay – You’ll complete our registration, waivers and payment for your class on our iCrew platform (you’ll be taken to a different URL for this step).
  2. Come to class! Wear snug fitting clothing and sunscreen, and bring plenty of water. During your class you’ll learn everything you need to know to join one of our programs.
  3. If you had a great time, your next step is to join our recreational crews for a two-week trial at a convenient time for you.
